TEACHER TRAINING INSTITUTE
This institute is located in Quelimane and has more than 400 students. Around 50 teachers teach here. To enter, all students must have at least the 10th grade, an average of 12 grades and ages between 17 and 26 years old.
They carry out an entrance exam in the Portuguese and Mathematics subjects, in which they must have a minimum of 10 points and then there is a second interview phase for future students.
Places for students are distributed equally: 50% for men and 50% for women.
The primary teacher course lasts three years.
With the Ataquinho scholarships, ATACA supports young people from vulnerable contexts, financing the costs of tuition fees, boarding school, school materials and expenses and uniforms/gowns. The first ATACA scholarship holders at this institute are already completing their final internship to complete the course. We continue together!
QUELIMANE INSTITUTE OF HEALTH SCIENCES
The Quelimane Institute of Health Sciences is a public institute that has the following courses lasting from two years to two and a half years:
Medical technician | General nursing | Nursing – maternal and child health | Laboratory technician | Pharmacy technician
At this institution, students are interns and the main difficulty they encounter is paying for all the medical-surgical materials necessary to complete the course and internships. The scholarship here was therefore directed towards this need.
This partnership began in 2021 and the first ATACA scholarship holders will complete the course in 2022 or 2023.
